My name is Emily and I created ResinByEmilyGB in 2020 at the beginning of the initial worldwide COVID19 lockdown. Now, my brand has emerged as an established business with almost a quarter of a million followers from a mere initial investment of just £200.00.
I embarked on this enchanting journey into the realm of resin artistry as an escape from my university studies in Law, emerging as a TikTok sensation and Master in Law only three short years later. Epoxy resin became my artistic muse from the very first pour, igniting a profound connection that set my creativity ablaze. This creative side of me had not been explored since my Art GCSE in high school and it was the epiphany I long awaited.
After losing my father last year in 2022, encapsulating ashes has become a heartfelt mission of mine rooted in my profound understanding of the grieving process. The intricate emotions and deep sentiment in my creations transcended the boundaries of art into memories of love and adornment. Each memorial product of ours honours lives that have passed, whilst providing a solace connection and source of comfort for those seeking to keep their dear ones close.
This journey into the world of resin was born out of an unexpected turn of events and was never an intention of mine. Creating bespoke jewellery products with ashes and memorial pyramids are now the core of my business, after many unsuccessful attempts of finding my niche prior. This venture has been a path paved with personal growth, revealing my own shortcomings along the way. From grappling with tax planning intricacies to navigating international shipping restrictions and creating my own website with no experience, the learning curve extended far beyond what I had initially anticipated.
However, the invaluable lessons learned along the way and the sense of fulfilment has derived from the connections formed between myself and my customers. This bond has formed from seeking a mutual solace in art, which has become a way for me to provide comfort and commemorate those who leave a lasting impact on our lives. These lessons are ones that cannot be taught in school and far outweigh the challenges I have overcome.
Now, the future for ResinByEmilyGB is exciting.
